Happy Chinese is part of the major project developed by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation under the Ministry of Education of China. It is mainly targeted at overseas junior middle school students aged from 11 to 16.
Happy Chinese is a newly upgraded edition building upon its classic predecessor. It adheres to Chinese Proficiency Grading Standards for International Chinese Language Education and The Framework of Reference for Chinese Culture and Society in International Chinese Language Education. Happy Chinese series consists of three levels and nine books. Every level includes a student’s book, a teacher’s book, and a workbook. After finishing the entire set of books, learners would reach proficiency in Chinese at Elementary Level 2.
